I’m pretty good at dealing with things, good or bad as long as I have the complete information and everything goes according to plan. This just didn’t go the way it was laid out from day one. Oh by the way it was colorectal cancer, probably stage II possibly III by not likely. The lymph nodes would be checked and since the cancer cells like to “crawl” I would be looking at being blasted with 30 radiation along with 24/7 chemo for 6 weeks (to increase the chances of no recurrance from 50% to less than 10% at the site of the resection), a four week layoff to get built back up a little bit before being pounded back down again with 6 months of chemo to kill those pesky cells that might have escaped into the rest of the lymphatic system. PROBLEM 1, it’s Stage IIIC, it’s in the muscle wall and 4 lymph nodes are affected, PROBLEM 2, the treatments start and within a short period of time it’s discovered I don’t have the necessary enzyme to break down the chemo for use in my body, that means NO CHEMO, a major drawback in the overall plan. It definitely puts a crimp in the standard protocol when the product is more life threatening than the cancer at that moment.

Welcome Cecile! What an adorable grandson. Looks like you are in the middle of the tough part. Glad you found this group.
Welcome! Keep us updated, and feel free to vent!
Thanks for the welcome, I’m new to blogging so if I mess it up a time or two, just bear with me.
Welcome Cecile, I just want to say, think about the good things and positive things in your life while you are going through these rough days. I am helping support a friend whos father has stomach cancer right now. He just got diagnosed 4 months ago. He is starting chemo. My fiance’ and I started doing some research about alternative methods that are available to be taken along with the chemo and helps the body recover faster, and even has some success with shrinking some tumors. I dont know that it would be that helpful for your situation, but I am more than happy to pass on the information that we have on the product. It is called Ambrotose. The way it was described to me in simple form was that it helps the bodys cells comunicate with each other and that way they identify the cancer cells as bad, quicker and attack them, rather than letting them pass by and create more and becoming harmful to your body. If you are interested, I am more than happy to send you the information on Ambrotose and the DVD of the product. IF so, email me at audicher@msn.com.
Good luck with your battles and try to stay positive through these tough times. Aloha ~Cher
