November 1, 2006, 30 treatments M-F caused sever fatigue, cystisis and cramping

November 1, 2006, Started with 5-FU, missing DPD enzyme causing life threatening toxicity issues and discontinuing the 5-FU. No additional chemo available to me for any treatment of this condition. Now in wait and see mode.

Sorry I haven't been here in awhileViews: 313

The biopsies came back as “congested”, not bad, just to be watched closely, it could be just irritation, I’ll just have to be checked again in December to see if anything else has happened with it, so the good news is nothing awful, thank God. The PET and CT scans have finally been scheduled for my one year anniversary in September. I’m getting my strength back on a slow but sure basis. The extra things are now getting done and when I get home from work I don’t feel like I always need to take a nap or lay down for awhile. Don’t get me wrong, I feel great, I just don’t have the stamina to keep going.
Still no trials for me, seems there’s still no new chemo available for the few that can’t handle 5-FU. On the up side, my surgeon is with Dana Farber/Brigham and Women’s and I work for “the Brigham” so if something comes along I should find out about it. Here’s to a happy life, no matter the length.

Hi Caitaly, I am a member here too if you’d like to come over and read my blogs there might be something there to help you…Sue
